This recipe contains all of the best seeds and nuts to increase our zinc levels (good for controlling the oil levels on our skin) and for heart and cardiovascular health.
They also contain goji berries, a source of beta glucan, which is good for gut health and one of the very few sources of the trace element germanium.
These are simple to make, entirely delicious and should be eaten daily as a hit of some of the best ingredients to keep our bodies healthy.
1/4 cup of:
Skin on almonds
A peeled chunk of fresh ginger about 4cm x 6cm chopped into small squares
Whizz in a food processor until powdery
Remove from mixer
Whizz 8 soft dried figs in the mixer
Then add the nut mix along with the rind of an orange and half its juice
Melt in a jug in the microwave
1/4 cup raw coconut oil
Pour this into the processor while it is whizzing the nut and fig mix
When it becones a lump of chocolate dough, remove and spread 1cm ish thick on baking paper. Its a bit sticky so spread using the back of a spoon.
Put it in the fridge for an hour or more.
Cut into squares and eat as a snack, one a day. Makes about 12.
